James D. Young

A native of Boston, James grew up in Florida and attended school there, earning an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and a law degree from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan’s Complex Litigation Unit, he had an illustrious career as Special Counsel to three Florida Attorneys General.

James focuses on qui tam whistleblower cases nationwide, with a reputation for his outstanding work on healthcare fraud, medical device, and pharmaceutical cases. James’ notable positions include having served in leadership roles In Re Risperdal—the largest Attorney General consumer protection drug settlement to date—as well as serving as co-lead of the Government Action group in the Vioxx Multi-district Litigation.

In addition to his attorney duties, James is active in a number of professional organizations, including the American Health Lawyers Association, the Florida Bar Health Law Section and the Federal Court Practice Committee of the Florida Bar.

Among his many honors are two Davis Productivity Awards, a Distinguished Service Award from the Florida Attorney General and an “AV” Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
